Apparently a Daniel Shillam married a Martha Lodge in Blakeney on 5th August 1797, and as George Lodge was baptised in November 1798 that seems to fit.  If her age at date of burial was correct, she was certainly a pretty 'elderly' mother.  But it would explain why no more children after him!

I'll try and remember to check out the marriage when I next go to Gloucester and see if there are any more clues.

'Shillam' was spelt every which way in the Woolaston registers too, but then that appears to be the case with most surnames.  I suppose when few could even write their own name, the person making the entry just made an 'educated' guess!

Have just realised I didn't give Martha's supposed age at death .... 95!

Yes, I would be very interested.  And I can let you have details of the other Woolaston Shillums too.  If only I can connect the Daniels - surely they must be cousins, just too much of a coincidence otherwise - then both you and Mark would be able to add another branch to your trees.
