Hello All, thank you all very much for your replies and help.

Kali I'll not shoot you down in flames ;D

Dennford, it is Scotland ,the north east just north of Aberdeen

Tomkin some great finishes there.

I'm not 100% sure but the man sitting in the middle mending nets could be my great grandad Andrew Duthie.Interestingly the young lad in the cap to his left leaning on the shed looks very like my brother but then maybe I'm just wishing that that is Andrews son Andrew bn 1879 but drowned in 1891. If only photos could talk.

old rowley thank you very much for your reply ,very informative :)

I have posted on the Aberdeenshire forum the same picture and also one that I know for sure is my great grandad.Do you think they are the same person?

Many thanks,Seonaid

Hi Carol,
Not telling you ,So There!!!!! :P :P :P
Cousin Hector is still learning how to use crayons and Fag ash Lil
(his girlfriend) is too busy with her new job as Bouncer at the "Rat &
Ferret".   Uncle Hector says that he will have nothing to do with " new fangled
machines " like steam engines.  Then again the kids round here will do anything
for a Wurthers Original.

    Tomkin ;D ;D ;D ;D

my thoughts that this photo is not American but rather from Scotland or Wales. The people do not look as though their clothes are American.
