Musgrave/Haslehurst connection?
« on: Sunday 11 March 07 09:36 GMT (UK) »
First let me thank everyone for all the new resources - I've spent a very happy day with them!!
Now perhaps someone may be able to help me with a connection I am trying to make.
In the 1851 census for Barnton Cheshire, Folio 171 P.22, I have found my g.g.grandparents Zachariah age 18 and Elizabeth Musgrove living with Elizabeths father Thomas Beach.
Zachariah is listed as a carpenter, and on the same census is another Musgrove, Edward, age 67, wdr. also a carpenter, living with Thomas and Sarah Haslehurst, and listed as father-in-law. (Folio 170 p. 21)
Can anyone tie these two families together please?
Warm regards from a VERY warm Queensland Australia.

Hi Pam, Tati and "downunder"
Thankyou so much for all that added information. Its helped find my Zachariah's parents for a start, plus his siblings, then his brother Thomas with wife and child on the 1861 census. Then the marriage of sarah and Thomas. I can send for the certificate and will know once and for all who their fathers were, and if they are in fact my folk. A wonderful result!!
Thank you all so very, very, much!!

My thanks again Pam, I hardly know where look first! Having Mary Haslehurst living so close to Zachariah and Elizabeth is interesting as it might now show another family, the Clarkes are also related to my mob.
Thomas Clarke is down as a boatman, and that was also the occupation of Elizabeth's father, Thomas beach. Strangely I havent been able to find Thomas Beach on any other census returns, or who he was married to. Plus there was a John Beach on that same 1851 census, also a boatman, also at Barnton, but I havent been able to connect him yet either. Would it be too much trouble to see if you can find either of them for me as well please?
Just to add to the picture, living with John and Hannah Beach in 1851, were an Elizabeth Platt (sister-in-law) down as Nurse girl, and Sarah Beach, mother, as a nurse Tenter? Maybe nursing ran in the family?
Anyway, to you, Pam, and Tata, thank you both very much for all your help. I wont be able to sleep tonight. (Mind you, its too hot for sleeping!)
Warm regards,
Pauline
