Alison Street, Tranmere, Birkenhead, COMPLETE THANK YOU
« on: Thursday 15 March 07 17:41 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me where this street was? I have tried Streetmap and it does not appear on the database.  I have it as an address on certificates in 1913 and 1919.
Thanks
Kathb

Alison St Rock Ferry was off Livingston Road and went  though to St Pauls Road. I am sorry it is no longer there now.I had relations who had a shop at 23 Alison St and it was shut in the 1950s. they lived there from 1891 to 1973. The houses were demolished about 1975 and the erea is now being redeveloped.

Alan, thank you very much for this information.  My relatives lived at number 13 between 1913 and 1915.

Hello- I was also looking for Allison Street, Tranmere and couldnt find it. Alan, thank you for your helpful answer , back in 2007!  A friend of mine from Argentina is coming over to the UK in September and would like to visit Tranmere because thats where his paternal grandfather (surname Thomas) came from. I found the grandfather (Ernest Thomas) in various census. The 1891 and 1901 census show them living at 23 Allison Street. By any chance your relatives arent part of the Thomas family are they? Would be exciting if we could find some distant cousins in that part of the world.
