Beatrix Potter,
after seeing the recent movie about her, brilliant by the way, I had to find them on the 1901 census in London.
I did.
I was surprised to find that her brothers occupation is listed as Artist/painter.

Charlotte Bronte is there at Haworth in 1851
      HO107/2287/1
I also looked up William Chester Minor, the American contributor to the Oxford English Dictionary who features in Simon Winchester's book, The Professor and the Madman''
He is there in Broadmoor in 1881 and 1891. He is listed as surgeon by profession, born in ''Sri Lanka'' in the index, but Ceylon on the image, and sadly ''lunatic'' in the far right column. By 1901 I think he was released on compassionate grounds and was taken back to the US.

What a great topic..

How about 29 St James Palace, Pall Mall in 1881 residence of "Lord and Lady Churchill" and "Master Winston Churchill" (age 6) .... Not forgetting the butler, the footman, the housemaid, the cook, the kitchen maid and other assorted servants.

Just for fun, I looked up the birth registration for the actress Violet Carson from Coronation Street.  She and I share a surname but I knew she wasn't related.

She was born March 30 1899 in Kirkcudbright Scotland.  Father Robert, a blacksmith, mother Janet ms Mills.
