Hi Barbara

Was Edgar born in the third quarter of 1914 if so there is a death that tallies with this info for 1984 also reg in Bradford.

I was just wondering have you tried contacting the Telegraph and Argus, which is the local paper to Bradford it comes every night.  You could maybe contact them via the link below and see if they would put an article in.

Thankyou Wendy
That's brilliant - I'm going to drop "the story so far" off today & I'll send you a message when the traveller returns.
Much appreciated
Barbara :)

Hi Guys
Here's the promised progress report ;)
The traveller has returned from Bradford very pleased with himself. He went to the record office first & found a few ancestors, then some frantic emailing as to what to do next.
I think I have got him hooked ;D because there was another unplanned trip to Bradford later on.
Very chuffed because he found an article in the newspaper archives about his Grandfather, Edgar, who was a prisoner of war.
Apparently he came home to find Grandma with a three year old child....oops ;D(but they stayed together)
So, thanks for your combined efforts,it is much appreciated :) :) :)
All the best
Barbara

Yes,but probably not in the near future - he has plenty of enthusiasm, but very little time.It will more likely be me ;D
He'll definitely do more research on the next trip.
I forgot to add - he was so concerned that a lot of his ancestors didn't get to their 60's that he has decided to drink only red wine from now on & watch the cholesterol.
Somehow, I don't think it was high living that killed them ;D
