I am descended from William Spark born about 1785 a farmer, he married
Margaret Gilcrist there son was Archibald Spark born 1814

Yes this is the correct family.

I need to go back in time though, I'm trying to find out more about William and Margaret.

William's father could have been Alexander and mother Elizabeth Napier.

If they are the right couple he was only 19 when he married.

I have narrowed it down at Scottish People so guess I'll end up forking out £10 for William's extract of birth
