Hi Betsy,
I found this one for Sally Jane Bennett.
Married Dec quarter of 1900 in Hailsham District. Vol 2b Page 221.  She married William Henry French. Here is the entry for them in 1901 census.

Elice French 1 month  Hellingly, Sussex, England Granddaughter

Harry French 46  Hellingly, Sussex, England Head     Shepherd on Farm

Jane French 48  Hellingly, Sussex, England Wife

Sally J French 24  Heathfield, Sussex, England Daughter-in-law

William French 23  Warbleton, Sussex, England Son    Stockman on farm

The address appears to be Grovebridge, Hellingly.

I also found her birth entry.
Its Dec quarter 1876 Hailsham 2b 82

The only possible problem is if she stopped using her full name as there were many Jane and Sally Bennetts around but i'm pretty confident this is the one. If the birth cert turns out to show the right parents then im sure the marriage is correct too.

I'll have a look for the others now.
Cheers
Barry

Me again,
The only Nancy Bennett marriage I can find for Sussex is this one;
Dec quarter of 1907 Hailsham 2b 211.
The groom was probably John Hilton but could have been Thomas Stevens.
I had a look for her birth but no luck.
Right, now for Lily!
Cheers

Barry.
You are bang on target.   The one and only time I met these two ladies, Sally and Nancy was in 1938 at my grandmothers funeral when I was aged 14.   I had no idea that they were my Aunties and only remember that they were referred to as Mrs FRENCH and Mrs HILTON.

Thank you so much.

Betsy

Hi Betsy,
I've had no luck finding birth, marriage or death for Lily or Lilian Bennett. I've used various spellings and looked otuside the county but i'm stumped. She does appear in the census in 1901. Sorry I couldnt help any further.

1901 England Census

Charles Bennett 13  Heathfield, Sussex, England Son

George Bennett 52  Heathfield, Sussex, England Head  Farm Labourer

George F Bennett 3  Hellingly, Sussex, England Son

Lilian M Bennett 16  Heathfield, Sussex, England Daughter  has an occupation but writing has been crossed through so is illegible

Mary A Bennett 45  Heathfield, Sussex, England Wife

William Bennett 23  Mayfield, Sussex, England Son  General labourer

Thomas H M Hogg 51  County Dover, Ireland Boarder

The address looks like Allhurst, Hellingly

All the best
Barry
