My 2x Great Grandfather Philip Guckes died in Southwark in 1928. Does anyone know of the nearest cemetery or as its London ( country boy talking ) would there be a choice of several ?

Hi willis,

According to "Greater London Cemteries and Crematoria" there are 3 posssibles:

Camberwell Cemetery (1856), Camberwell New Cemetery (1927) and Nunhead Cemetery (1840).   Dates show the first register.

My relatives that died in Southwark were all taken to Streatham Vale cemetary/crematorium.
