Thank you
Louisa was born in 1842 in York and was constantly in trouble as a child but never appeared on a census though she lived in Garden Place where other Oglesbys lived. I have located her registry details and will send for a copy of her birth certificate. She appears regularly in the York newspapers and can be accessed though British Newspaper Archives.
She was definitely sent to the H of C in 1855.
Thanks for address of H of C. 'Jail Lane' gone now. Just as well. The site has an electricity power sub station on it. Do any Oglesbys, Wilkinsons, Battles, Shreads or Ushers appear in the H of C census details?
Thanks for your help.
Steve :)

Hello Steve, None of those names in H of C in 1861.  It is possible earlier or later years, but I would need some d o b to work with otherwise there are - in some cases - several pages to go through to find H of C, which is just listed as "household" as with any residential addy.
