Looks like LEESS - with the double S being the old fashioned long S, looking like an F !

In 1861, theres a Charles and Elizabeth LEESE in Trent Vale, but he's 5 years younger and a Stationary Engine Driver which doesnt match whatever 1851 shows ....

Many thanks for your responses Newfy, and I would say that the couple you found in 1861 are the corresponding ones from 1851.Incidentally my main point of interest is the "Hermion" Boulton Niece from 1851.

This may be Hermione Boulton in 1841 - name was Mary, crossed out and could well be Herm~~n written in.

Aged 5 - in the Household of John Swinnerton (China Painter), wife Hannah and young kids - in Trent Vale.

See what others think ?

Yes you are correct Newfy, that is the Entry I found in 1841,and I also found the Birth of a Hermin Boulton on the IGI in 1833,to Parents Alfred and Sarah Boulton in Stoke-On-Trent.I have had less success looking for a possible Marriage for these two on the IGI,or a possible Birth for Alfred.

Many thanks for your reply, and it still seems an extraordinary coincidence the IGI entry, heightened by the fact that after Hermin's marriage to a Charles Wilshaw in 1854 in Stoke, the couple had a son named Alfred born in c 1855.
