Maiden Stone,
I did not find any households with the surname Lamb in the 1767 returns, but here are the Smith households in Garstang.  The first numeric column is the person's age and the second numeric column is years of residence:

Catteral
James Smith  Husbandman  33  8
Margt            his Wife  33  8
Ann     10  10
James  8  8
Thomas  6  6
William  2  2

Claughton
James Smith     Husbandman  84  8
Thos Smith       "               "   60  20
Jane Wife of Thos Smith         56  56
Adam               Husbandman  24  24
Charles              "              "   22  22
George              "              "   20  20
[Jennet Derham  Servant        21  1]

Thank-you for the information, Phil. I'll take a closer look at the Smith families with that detail you've given me. I'd noticed a James Smith named as godparent a couple of times.
Best wishes.

Hi Phil
Would you be kind enough to look on the Papist return list for Gardners in the Garstang area. I am especially interested in a Richard Gardner born abt 1750. He married a Mary Parker in 1779 and they lived at Banks Farm Barnacre. Thanks in anticipation, Christine

Hi Christine, sorry for the delay.  Following are the households in Garstang parish, from the 1767 Returns of Papists:

Claughton
#527 Oliver Gardner; Servant [in the household of Thomas Leach]; age 14; 1 year resident

#531 Nichs Gardner; Labourer; age 40; 40 year resident
#532 Alice; Wife of Nichs Gardner; age 39; 39 year resident
#533 Elizabeth; age 16; 16 year resident
#534 Mary; age 14; 14 year resident
#535 Michael; age 8; 8 year resident
#536 John; age 4; 4 year resident
#537 Ann; age 2; 2 year resident

#689 William Gardner; Husbandman; age 20; 1 year resident
#690 Alice; his Wife; age 27; 1 year resident
#691 Mary; age 1; 1 year resident

Bilsborrow

#812 John Gardner; Husbandman; age 42; 4 year resident
#813 Margt; his wife; age 45; 2 year resident
#814 Eliz Kitching; age 15; 2 year resident
#815 Margaret Kitching; age 13; 2 year resident
#816 Robt Gardner; age 12; 4 year resident
#817 Hen Kitching; age 8; 2 year resident
#818 Alice Gardner; age 9; 4 year resident
#819 John Gardner; age 7; 4 year resident
#820 Mary Kitching; age 6; 2 year resident
#821 Thos Gardner; age 1; 1 year resident

Let me know if you need anything else.  I included the Kitchings in the last household listed as they appear to be under the same roof and are no doubt Margaret's children from a previous marriage.

Regards,
Phil

No wories, thank you for the reply Phil. I don't think they are mine judging by family names etc  :(
Do the returns cover the Lancaster area? If so any Gardners in Lancaster, Poulton Bare & Torrisholme or Heysham would also be of interest. Many thanks Christine
