Allan

Haven't seen that one but I have only looked at IGI under standard spelling (which doesn't always pick up on all the spelling variants). I have found the family in 1841 in Dumbarton. Big household  ::) As you know, the 1841 does not show relationships within the household, so difficult to say if all the children showing are James and Ann's. There is also another couple in the household, again difficult to say what the connection is at this stage and what children may be theirs:

James, 35, , glass maker, b. Ireland
Ann, 35, b. England
Abraham, 15, b. in the county
Arthur, 14, b. in the county
Mary, 12, b. in the county
James, 10, b. in the county
John, 8, b. in the county
Joseph, 7, b England
Elizabeth, 6, b. England
Arthur, 5, b. England
Ann, 2, b. England
Margaret, 1, b. England
John McCully, 25, glass maker, b. in the county
Elizabeth McCully, 30, b. England

Address: High Street Southside, Dumbarton

I can't see any OPR entry unfortunately for Robert's birth/christening anywhere in Scotland. I searched under Mc/Mac*l* to pick up on all the variants (McCully will have lots of variations as I'm sure you have found).

Thanks Monica
It always seem to be the Ancestor you want is not there, I wonder if he was baptised in the same church as his siblings but record has been mislaid or as you say the spelling of McCully could be the problem.
