Don't know if we have spoken before, but I read this oldish post recently after a period of time away from genealogy
I have a George Beattie circa 1760 would I imagine been in the Hawick, Bonchester Bridge, Hobkirk area who married a Betty (Elizabeth) Stevenson before 1816, they had a daughter in 1816 called Betty, this betty, well both are a bit of enigmas and I am struggling
