1871 census Thomas Cox
« on: Thursday 26 April 07 14:22 BST (UK) »
Hi There.
I wonder if anyone can help me try and find out more about one of my distant relatives. Thomas  Cox born Ropsley c1835 married someone called Fanny born c1829 in 1863 so I have been told.
Is there someone can find out if that is true and Fanny's maiden name please?
                                      Regards
                                       naffi girl :) :) :)

Hi Ricky
You are a star. I am trying to see who all the Cox family of Ropsley married to finish off that side of the tree so far.
I have been in contact with someone and they have a William Cox born Ropsley 1809 married to Ann . Well my William was born 1802 Ropsley married to Ann too. Do you think there are two or them? ::)

Struggling to find a marriage for him, I know in 1861 he was single and working in Nottinghamshire.

Hi Naffie Girl
The only marriage that I can find for a Thomas Cox in 1861 is this one

1863
St George in the East,
London/Middlesex
on the same page is a
Fanny Jemimia Laing
Jane Sophia Pettitt

On ths 1861 census there is this person
Fanny Laing servant u/m 34 female servant Beds Old Warden
must admit she is down St Helens, Hampshire, which is a long way from Lincs

1851
She is in Kent aged 26

Hi Ricky
Our Thomas was a Jack of all trades then and maybe master of none.
