Ada Lily Harding, from Abiam
« on: Sunday 29 April 07 21:40 BST (UK) »
Hello Harry,
I have an old, faded photograph which needs brightening up.  I can see that I can post it here and maybe you or someone could do something with it .  Now I have to show my computer ignorance and ask how do I down load it when and if it gets done!  Bet that's raised a few grimaces or laughter!  I shall now try and post it.
Regards Abiam

I was just about to give it a go, but my graphics pad is misbehaving.

I must remember that when things misbehave, instead of panicking; just shut down and restart.

Den,
Wow!  That was quick.  And so much better than before.
Although I think I would prefer it to be sepia and I wonder if anything can be done about the long mark down the centre?

I looked out the photo, 9.5 by 13 cms, and tried to scan it at a higher resolution.  I have always used my scanner on automatic and ventured into setting my own resolution.  With bad results!  It's an Epson Twain.  A notice came up saying I didn't have sufficient virtual memory and something like they(Windows) would be paging more!  I can't remember exactly.  Computer froze!!!  Got out of that and tried scanning at 360 which was fine but I couldn't see any way of printing it out.  And looking at all the settings it appears to want to print on my old Epsom which is long gone.  I've been into Printers and faxes and my printer, Canon Pixma, is selected as the printer to use.
Any answers!

Thanks again Den, I certainly didn't expect such an immediate result,
Regards Abiam

Abiam,
Sepia and line (That I had overlooked) on the way, but will be later tonight or in the morning.

If you have managed to scan it at 360 - ideal for restoration, can you post that one on here. I'm not sure about the printer though, if the Canon is selected as default printer it should work!

Denn,
I have sent you a reply but it doesn't seem to have worked.  I am delighted with the sepia and lineless photo.
I have scanned it again at 630 but as with my message it's not there.  So I'll try again.  I'll send it in a separate post as i do want you to receive my thanks,
Regards Abiam.

Just looked at your profile and see you are in Australia - hence the Ozzy bowler!  But shouldn't that have been "As fast as an Ozzy Gillespie!"

Trying again.  It has been turned back 3 times "because there is already a file uploade with the same name!  I've changed the name in it's folder each time!  Don't know what I'm doing wrong, last try
