Hi there, I am looking for anyone who has this CD or access to it who could possible lookup some ancestors.

Isaac Place, wife Mary Place and sons Isaac, William and Thomas who arrived on the ship TRUSTY into Western Australia in Dec 1842. Not sure if there was a sister Mary Ann with them too.

I would like to know if there is any more info like where the ship departed from and other info on the individuals like age, religion, birthplace etc.

Thankyou in advance if you can help

Kind Regards

Is this any help, if they are yours at least you have an age to work out an approximate birth year.
No birthplace for Isaac or Mary
Seems the Mary Ann may have been his second wife

Hi Melanie

There is a member of the Perth DPS who has the PLACE family noted on the surname interest list.  There is an email address for further info on the PLACE name.

I am wondering if the Perth DPS could help you with further info as the TRUSTY is listed on their Shipping pages.

Hi - a different name.

Is it possible for someone to look up  "Ann RALPH", possibly arrived
WA 1853 on the "Clara", which was possibly an Irish Bride Ship please?

Thanks

Rozzy

Hi Rozzy,

No Ann Ralph turned up but there was a Miss Biddy Ralph, aged 18, arrived on 13th January, 1853 on board the Travencore, departed London.

There is a reference Acc 115/7-8.

Hi dee

Thanks for that - my Ann Ralph was supposed to have come from Tipperary Ire.  Alternate spellings?  Ralf etc.

Was there a bride ship called the "Clara" that sailed 1853?

As far as I know, she was born approx 1823 (died 1897 aged 74), so
that would make her around 30.

Of course, it might not have been 1853, but she was in WA by 1856 when
she had her first child to Edward Langridge (WA ex convict).  No marriage
records, probably  because he was previously married in England.

Thanks,

Rozzy

The Clara appears to have made trips in 1853, 1857 and 1864, each time departing London. 1857 and 1864 it was loaded with convicts. 1853 it appears to have had soldiers and women and children. But checking all the passengers there is no-one that looks like an Ann Ralph or any variation.

Searched the whole disk for variations of Ralph, Ralf, Rolph. etc etc - nothing turned up I am afraid.

Thanks dee for your time and research.

Information just come to hand:    "an Ann(e) RALPH married to a James Quin(n) from Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.  They had a daughter Catherine."

My Ann Ralph did not marry the father of her 8 children here in WA, and
'local research' has her arriving on the Clara in 1853 under her own name.
We know that is not the case from shipping records.
Coincidently the third child/daughter she had in WA was called Catherine.

So,  she might have left her husband and daughter in Ireland and travelled to Aus. via London.....

Anyway, I'll keep searching...

Thanks
Rozzy
