William Walker, b. c1797 in Selkirk - help, no record can be found
« on: Wednesday 09 May 07 18:16 BST (UK) »
I'm new to Selkirkshire-genealogy, so excuse my blunders.

In a significant recent breakthrough, I found the entry for my 3rd ggf in the burial register for a cemetery in Paisley (Renfrewshire).

The entry records that William Walker was born in Salekirk [sic] and died aged 36 on 8 May 1834 - in London as it happens.

I can find no baptism record for him on either Scotlandspeople or in the IGI. Any help would be much appreciated.

He had two sons: Andrew, b. 1824, and James, b. 1826. As his father-in-law was James Cross, I tend to think that he may have been the son of an Andrew.
