Hello there.

I've just got onto the site for the first time and found your messages.  I thought I'd add some information.  It may be of use to you espescially as I see that you are also looking for Murray's in Northumberland.

Little Mill as you know now is a tiny little area just outside the Embleton/Stamford area.  My father, a Murray,  lived in Howick a neighbouring village to Little Mill.  My mother informs me that the first job my father had was working at the pipemaking site - pipeworks at Little Mill.  I know from past records that there was a quarry there and presume that the clay was taken from the area to make the pipes.I had a walk through the remains of the area last year.  It is now occupied by a newly built bungalow.
