Hi,
My John married Sarah Fletcher from West hallam I think. In 1841 they were living in Somercotes, Riddings district in Derbyshire with John b.1826 Silvia b.1829 Elizabeth b. 1833 Hannah b. 1836 and Joseph b 1840.
1851 Hannah was still with them and T. Slack age 10.

Right, I've looked at what I've got on my SLACK family.
Thomas is not with his parents in 1841 or 1851.
The 1841 & 51 census entries you mentioned were the best matches for Thomas' parents.
I haven't got any further back with these SLACKS.

looked at 1851 census again and youngest was J Slack - I've got more info. about Slacks which someone emailed to me but I'll have to sort it out if you're interested.

Johns parents were Thomas Slack b. c 1765 in Codnor and Millicent Waters b. c1774 in Pentrich - her parents were Sampson Walters 1734 and Sarah Saunders. I have too much info to put on here . Hope this is helpful to you...Chris
