I can read mine the way they were written - if I go back - just not printed in the inbox !!  :P :P :P

Can you understand that Trystan ??  :P :P

Annie  :)

That's when you follow the link from your notification e-mail, Annie, right?
It leads you to the send message thingy where, indeed!  ??? - you can see the text of the PM you have received. Weird!!

I just told Arranroots .....

it's like it gets frozen .... if I can't get the message by the inbox and it's set on the page - I read the box as typed .... then maybe tomorrow or the next day they suddenly appear on a page .... but by that time - the next page is full ........   so then we start over .... !!

It's been like that for ages - I just deal with it - I thought everybody did !!

Yes - same here - only I usually go to RC before I bother with my e-mails :-\
I expect it's something to do with that Ware lot Annie. We Northern Lasses shouldn't stray South of the Trent   :o

Maybe the ELS could be archived every so often and stored in a very dark place  ;D

Just seen your posting Annie, it's as if the pointers get corrupted and it can't turn to a new page

For comparison purposes:

If I get an e-mail to say that I have a new message, and I click on the URL in that e-mail, I get the "send message" screen as Annie describes - BUT - I also get a Pop-up telling me I have a new message and would I like to open it in a new window?  If I click "Cancel" at this point I see the "send message" screen which was underneath throughout.

If I then click on the Welcome Arranroots you have 19 messages 1 is new...the message is there - at the TOP of my messages.

This seems to differ from Annie and Tanja, who find their oldest messages at the top and tne new one in theory at the bottom.

We all seem to have pop-ups enabled for our personal messages.

Don't know whether this will help at all?

A ;)

I don't know whether this confuses things but I noticed recently that when I access RC from work using IE I get the popup saying there is a new message and would you like to open it and it brings up a separate page with the message on.

However at home I use Firefox and here, I get the same popup but it doesn't work, doesn't bring up a separate page.

What I am trying to say is are some of these problems down to different browsers?

Don't know just a thought.

Default setting for Firefox is to block pop-ups

BUT  ....

you should get a a line at the top of the browser window, with a message "Firefox has just blocked a pop up", and to the right, a button to click for settings.  After clicking on this, you can then click on "accept pop-ups from Rootschat.com"

or if you want to allow all pop-ups (Eeeek !!) then click on
extra
settings
contents
, and uncheck the "Block pop-ups" box

........ Mary creeps in and whispers I have no problem, 254 messages and 1 is new and when I click on that link it opens my list of pm's with the last one at the top - I rarely use the link from an email.

Also I use Firefox and it does pop up the message that I have a new pm, I usually cancel since to accept opens up another browser and I prefer to work in tabs instead.

Does this help or hinder anybody?
