Restoring: is there any magic to be worked on this?
« on: Thursday 17 May 07 15:30 BST (UK) »
I don't have ready access to a scanner, so this is taken with a digital camera as square on as I could get.

It is my great-great-great grandmother Isabella Noble, subsequently Stevenson, subsequently Burton.

She was baptised in Aug 1834 at Whitewell in Bowland, moved to Leyland, moved to Manchester and finally moved to Blackpool after the 1881 census and died Aug 1894 of alcohol poisoning (which may explain her expression)

She does look a pretty formidable lady!
Its very difficult to recreate a background but Ive given it a shot. Hope it works for you.
its smaller than you posted as the Rootschat system wouldnt accept the larger file.

And a colour.

I think she looks quite sad really, like she has the weight of the world on her shoulders...probably why she turned to drink!  Very sad way to go.  :(
