I have covered the two bands with colour on my restoration ... Do you want me to remove themor just cover one band  ? :-\Also I have been waiting to hear your response as to whether I should edge the jacket in yellow.... ???

My question about the two shaded lines on the cap was for the uniform experts, as they don't seem to fit with the description of a broad gold band.

Regarding the piping on the jacket, there's a post from bobbyg further up this thread that says

I think I'll remove the gold then ....cos to me it all looks the same colour on the original to me ...   ;D ;D

Tis yellow for other ranks, Gold for NCO's . The band indeed looks divided but the yellow comes up to two thirds of the way up normaly. I will check my dress regs for this period, maybe a Musicians varitation or fault with photo, who knows ? Indeed the cap could be one of the Regiments which had red tops as some did. Not knowing the exact unit restricts one to a generic answer. Whatever the cap should have a yellow band two thirds of the way up. The cap is certainly not all blue.
