1901 census help please - LEGGATT
« on: Friday 18 May 07 01:12 BST (UK) »
In 1891 the LEGGATT family were living at 94 Dens Rd Dundee:

John Leggatt 25 b. Montrose dyers labourer
Agnes Leggatt 24  b.  Dundee
Eliz Leggatt 1  b. Dundee,
David Leggatt 1 month b. Dundee,
Mary J Leggatt 10  sister b Dundee
Alison Smart 30 sister-in-law b. Kinfauns, Perthshire

In 1901 John was in H M General Prison in Edinburgh Rd Perth but I can't find any trace of his wife and children. I tried searching for them under all sorts of variations.

I know Agnes Leggatt died in 1910 somewhere in Angus so they must be there somewhere.

I can't find Alison Smart (nee Sharp) either. She married John Smart in 1887 in Dundee but there's no death for her on Scotlandspeople.

Can anyone find them?

Many thanks Pam, that does look like the sister. I appreciate you looking - I thought a fresh pair of eyes might turn up something :-)
