I have a theory , that some "professional" researchers glean some information from the site for free !!

You could be right there.

I've had suspicions about some RC'ers but always hope that I've been wrong, suspecting that they are just spreading their branches wide through in-laws etc.  I prefer to think the best of people rather than the worst.

We all know that information is gained over time, but sometimes the main question remains unanswered - I have my own - grandmother's first husband - the Irish Francis Louis Longford who I've posted details for over a number of years and on a number of boards, and have slowly collected some history about him and his family but if anybody ever found a death for him between 1901 and 1907 I'd be overjoyed, so one day I may myself post another request for any information about him.

I have the popular Irish brick wall too.

My first ever post on rootschat was regarding them. I still haven't discovered any more but I do have a couple of small avenues to explore before I finally throw in the towel.

Has there been a "can someone find my unfindable people - I've been searching for years" thread?

Hey Bob,

You're joking!

I'm sure Ruskie means a special board for people who have really seriously been seeking for their ancestors/rells for ages and ages and yonks.

A special BRICKWALL board (with a COMPLETED child board - ha, ha) - not your everyday brickwall.  And Mods could remove any posts which weren't really serious brickwalls!  And posters would be required to spell out in detail everything they know, and every deadend they've tried.

Might be an idea?

Especially for RootsChatters who thrive on the really hard puzzles  ;)

KerryB,

I see what you mean  :o

Nevertheless ...

JAP
PS: Perhaps I should rephrase what I said.  And limit it to RootsChatters who have been seriously seeking their brickwall ancestors on RootsChats for yonks ...
