Need Nova Scotia Birth Look-Up

I am trying to find the birth place and the  year of birh for JACOB SIMPSON.
I have 1798 & 1800 for his year of birth. 1871 census for Ont. has his birth place Nova Scotia. But I was also told he was born in Massachusetts. Haven't found anything yet.
 Parents name: WILLIAM SIMPSON and REBECCA.
Jacob married 1st  Elizabeth Tompkins and 2nd Mary Cuming in 1870.

1851 census has his birth listed as 1798 Canada

Marriage to Mary Cuming in 1870 has birth as 1802 in Cambridge, Mass.

1871 has birth as 1801 in Nova Scotia, Canada

1881 has his birth as 1798 in USA  (Other family members if you haven't found this yet)

Death:  May 24, 1881 - Birth as 1798 / No place listed. 
Informant was Ann Dickinson

All records were located in Brighton, Northumberland County.
