Link: Lincolnshire County Pauper Lunatic Asylum photgraphs

I've just come across this rather unusual site & thought some of you may be interested in it, if, like me, one of your poor ancestors ended up there (my gt,gt,gt, grandmother lived there for about 24 years 1852-1874 & also died there!)

There are lots of present day photographs (sneakily taken as it is closed off to the public) but with a bit of imagination you can see how it might have been in days gone by.

Hi Criggy,

Yes I too find these websites very interesting, the hobby is called "Urbexing"
Keen agile photographers can sometimes just walk into some of our most historic forgotten buildings and they report on their findings with photographs along with any historical facts they can find.

There are normally multiple visits to the site over years which show normally the decay of the buildings.

Sarah :)
