Hi bolton,

Would you like to give us some dates here - just to help put things in context.  ;)

Are you looking for any specific information?

 Hi
Yes I have William Boulton born about 1749 who married  july 1773 Burcott Dorchester Oxford  to
  Ann ( Simms) I think.
They had three son that I know of. all christened Purton
 John Simmons Boulton bapt 1773
 Henry Boulton bapt 1776
 Andrew Boulton bapt 1777
I know what happened to the first two sons but not Andrew maybe he died young.
I cannot find my first William Boulton birth.
Do you think you are related to these Boulton's?
Kind regards B

No, sorry, I'm not related to any of these families.  I was just trying to establish what time-frame you are looking at.

The BVRI2 includes Purton records, but none of your Boultons appear on it which seems a little odd.  There are some later in the 18th century whose parents are William and Barbara - any connection? What was the source of your information for your William?

 Hi Little Nell
My source was the vital index records.
William and Barbara are related to another chap who has been a geat help to me with my family tree.
He went to the records office and found lots of info;
I was only trying to find out where my William Boulton was born and who his parents were? he may have been born about 1749.
The only birth I found around that date was an illegitimate son William borne 1749 to a Sarah Boulton
Which I think could be my William Boulton.
Thank you for you help very much appreciated........

Hi bolton,

There are 6 William Boulton baptisms recorded on the BVRI2 in the 1700s, but none of them are close enough to 1749.  1703, 1731, 1760, 1777, 1793 and 1794 are the dates.  Sorry,  :-\, don't seem to be able to help on this one.

Hi,
I recently cleaned a church ceiling window and on two of the diamond glass panels, inscribed, John Boulton & sons, stone masons, Purton, on one and the other panel is inscribed, both by hand in the glass, Jim Leggit, John Boulton, Purton.
The church is St Mary's, lydiard tregoze, Swindon, Wiltshire.
There may some family record's with that church.
Interesting find and may be useful, unfortunately I'm not allowed to photograph but I'll seek permission if it helps.
All the best.
