I'm the great grandson of Suzanah (susan) Hempstock and was brought up by William whose date of birth was 4/3/1898 to the best of my recollection.  William married Ada Louisa Palmer whose date of birth I don't have.  Ada was the sister of Arthur, Beatrice and Herbert (who was killed in action in WW1) - the family was from Conisbrough near Doncaster.

If anyone has information regarding my ancestors on either side of the family prior to 1914, I'd be interested to know.

Hi JohnnyfromDonny,

I'm currently researching the family tree for a friend of mine, Raymond Hempstock, from Doncaster. He is the son of Brian Hempstock, b. 1935. His father Brian was adopted by William Hempstock and Ada so we're not sure of his original surname (my friend thinks it was something like Milner). Are you any relation to Brian ?. If you don't mind me asking who are your parents and grandparents,  that makes you the great grandson of Suzanah Hempstock, and why were you brought up by William and Ada.
William and Ada had two natural children, George Bernard Hempstock and Joan Margaret Hempstock.

Kind Regards
