Hello Fellow Kerr researchists!

I take the second name Kerr from my Grandfather Peter Kerr Murphy.  Along the way there is my Jane Kerr of Glasgow (1851-1923).  Her father was Samuel Kerr (1813-1876)  born in Kirkudbrighthire who married Jane McDonald (1815-1901). Samuel's wife was Agnes Munsie.  It is Samuel's parents that I am trying to identify.  Any assistance would be great.  Kind regards.  Brennan Kerr Nelson.

Hello there.  Many thaks for taking time to reply to me.  I have Samuel Kerr's death certificate, 21 February 1876, showing Samuel's father, Samuel, as a master shoemaker and mother Agnes Munsie.  The death certificate was from Glasgow Anderston. It can get very confusing ...

This is probably another Branch of the family possibly cousins or may not even be related just from the same area ,I have seen the shoemaker on some of the cenus records as I have been hunting if I find anything that I think will be useful to you I will pass it on .

Although he doesn't appear to be directly related, this post reminds me of something Mum said many times about my Kerr ancestors:  "Our Kerrs were either barristers, preachers, or hanged as horse-thieves or murderers ... all cut from the same cloth, I'd say!"

Hello there.  And the Kerrs were not unique in the plunderings.  Your should read about my MacDonalds.  Now they knew how to murder.  Even their own families!  And that's why we have Nova Scotia packed with MacDonalds.  ::)  By the way I have a few John Kerrs in my tree ...
