Marriage Lookup Please - ABDALE/WEBB

Hi

I am new to the list and would appreciate some help.  My 2 x Grandfather John Abdale [Apedaile] born Catterick 1808 married Mary Webb born c1814 Stratford St Mary, Suffolk.   They were living in Newbury, from c1840 when all their children were born.   Am desperately looking for a marriage to find out who her parents were.   Any help will be very much appreciated

sorry had no luck at all..............as you say all children were born Newbury Berkshire  and they must have been married prior to 1841 as they are together on all census and seem to be down as abdale on the census returns, but I couldnt find any Abdale on GRO from 1837 to 1841

perhaps someone else will have better luck  sorry

I am not aware to any online PR's for Stratford St Mary, but the SRO does sell them on microfiche.

Thanks for the info.   I'm coming to the U.K. in Sept, will try to visit the SRO - I do not have access to a microfische reader.

Most libraries have fiche readers and will allow you to use them to view your own fiche.

The LDS has filmed the PRs for Stratford St Mary.  They can be ordered for viewing at any LDS Family History Centre worldwide.

Thanks Rick for that info.   Ordering fims through the LDS here in Port Elizabeth South Africa can take up to six months.   I will definitely make a plan to get to the Records office in Suffolk when we are in the U.K.   I really appreciate all the help that is available on Roots chat.

Hi there, I am looking into the same person for a Hamilton relative, and found John Abdale married Mary Webb in 1833 in Lea, Kent, England, Mary was born in 1814 in Stratford, Suffolk. This info. is from LDS family search. Do you know if John Abdale's parents were called John & Margaret?
