1871 & 1901 Census - Joseph Gibson, Hetton-Le-Hole
« on: Wednesday 08 December 04 20:26 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for information on Joseph Gibson b.c.1860 in Hetton-Le-Hole.  I have managed to find him on the 1881 & 1891 census records but not the other two.
He married Elizabeth A b.c1858 and had the following children:
John T(homas?) Gibson b.c.1882
Annie Gibson b.c. 1884
Mary A Gibson b.c. 1887

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Em ???

Hi Em

Do you have Joseph's marriage Certificate? You really need this to confirm his father's name so that the correct 1861 & 1871 Census entries can be found.

There are several possibilities for Joseph Gibson of about that age and birthplace.

Hi :)
Have you tried

www.durhamrecordsonline.com

they have church records and census it is free to search and you pay for the results which are inexpensive and emailed to you as soon as payment is received.

Worth having a look if you are researching the area. they broke down one of my brickwalls with the 1871 census.

Good luck
Janet  ;)

Thank you for your help!  All is appreciated at this point in time!  I've just started researching this branch and had forgotten how difficult it is at the beginning...

I need to ensure first that Joseph is definitely the father of John Thomas Gibson (my Great Grandfather) which he appears to be on the census records I've seen though have to save and get copies of certificates and such like!

Thanks again,
Emma
