New 3-day free Ancestry.com access
« on: Wednesday 20 June 07 20:03 BST (UK) »
I've just received news that there's another 3-day free Ancestry.com offer (via Ancestrylibrary.

You have to go via this llink:

http://www.ancestrylibrary.com/security/deny.aspx?sub=2129924&dbid=1076&url=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestrylibrary.com%2fcgi-bin%2fsse.dll%3fdb%3d1851Scotland%26indiv%3dtry%26h%3d266303%26requr%3d2129924%26ur%3d0&gsfn=&gsln=

and either register or use an existing login name. I used the same login name that I've previously used for a 3-day free access offer, so there doesn't appear to be restrictions

That's strange, it didn't give me problems.

I'd suggest you register with a new email address - create a new hotmail address, for example. Or maybe it's stored a cookie on your computer, marking you as someone who's already used such an offer. if that's the case, you could try deleting cookies (browser settings), using (maybe installing) a different browser - Firefox, perhaps, or using another computer.

Just tried the link and up comes Ancestry Library edition- 'we're giving you a free 14-day trial...'
At the top there's a red box which says 'we are unable to authenicate you   login' but when I entered username and password they were rejected.

The 14-day offer seems to come up if you are already logged into ancestry.com or ancestry.co.uk

Logout & retry.
