Leather Lane, Holborn Old Photos? COMPLETED

Hi

In 1878 my ancestors lived for a little while at No 69 Leather lane in Holborn. Having googled images, there is very little for old photos of the street. Does anyone know of any good websites with photos of the Holborn area of London or have any old photos of Leather lane at all?

Sorry couldn't find much else about Holborn except Hotels some of which seem to be in old buildings.
Beware of the site which comes up for Old Holborn, it is in Sunderland.  Shame lots of old pictures there.

Thanks for your help. Leather Lane is quite a famous street so I dont know why there isnt more photos on the web of it. I know a lot of Italians lived there in the 1880s and 1890s as well.

It was a market in the 60s. Not sure if it still is.

I remember my Dad who worked nearby bringing home "bargains" from Leather Lane  ;)

Leather Lane market still exists today. Has fruit and veg as well as some other tat stalls.

How about searching the Francis Frith photographic archives?

You would have to purchase a photograph in order to use it in the public domain (I think).  I tried searching by "Leather Lane", but the narrowest I ended up being able to get was by using "London".  THere are 24 pages of thumbnails, but it would be worth looking through them to see if there's anything relevant.

go to google click on images and add "Leather lane"  Holborn  to the search box. It comes up with a few prints of the area.

Hi, i cant help with photos and i know it is a long time since you posted this but in my Google ramblings researching family history your post came up and i just wanted to share that in 1871 my ancestors were living at 69, Leather Lane. I am loving my research, it is so much fun!
