Hello. my grandfather was Holly Hope. He was at one time married to Nellie Bonnet, with a later marriage to Cecelia Smith. My father, John Holly Hope, was the first born of their three children. Regards, Holly

Can't see who wrote this so cant say hello. But if you are tracing Gray family, the states connection is interesting, I know my father was invited to the states by family out there to work, luckily he turned it down and luckily met my mother!

Hi Everyone. I'm pretty new to discovering my ancestry, but it appears that some of you are my relations which is really exciting for me!

I'm also related to Ossery Gray, Adolphus - GGGF, Baron Gray who was my GGF and James (Jim Gray) was my GF. Annoyingly I did uncover more of my family tree a few years ago but can't find it now as have moved house a few times since then...

My GF Jim Gray died back in 2000 and I never had the opportunity to talk to him about the Romany family. In fact I only found out years after he died. I would really love to try and meet some people who knew my GF and also to hear from anyone who knows more about this branch of the family.

Hello! This is fascinating. So that mean that Your grandfather Clarence was cousins with my Grandfather Jim. Do you by chance know anyone who might have known my grandfather? I'm very keen to try and find someone who knew him before it's too late. I understand there was some kind of work related dispute between Jim and someone else which meant that Jim left his community of Norfolk for several years before returning in later life. I would really like to find out more about this and also what kind of work Jim, Baron, Adolphus and Ossery were doing. I know that they're all showmen.

I had heard of the American link before - do you know what they were doing out there?

Thanks for your reply.

Ben

I don’t know if you’ll see this as it is a long time since you posted but if you didn’t already know Rabbi and Pamela’s former home “The Tortoise” described as a showman’s road-rail living wagon is one of the exhibits at The Scarborough Fair Collection.
