Hi, I know this is a really old thread but hopefully you'll get to read this! Thomas Watkins is my 4x great grandfather. The information I have is that his father was William Watkins (born 1777 in Usk). In the 1851 census it says William Watkins is receiving a weekly allowance from houses formerly master mason. I'm assuming that William Watkins built the Watkins buildings.
