Castle Belligew and Drofeda

Hello,

These are the Irish birth placenames given for my Plunkett family in the 1881 census for England. Other censuses  just say Ireland so far.
 
I was wondering if Castle Belligew is likely to be CastleBellingham and Drofeda to be Drogheda.

Any opinions welcome.

Jola again.

Got access to the 1871 census and I have confirmed the Drogheda one.  Also I now have Westmeath which seems to be a real name.

The Castle Belligew from 1881 know reads as something different which I haven't yet been able to identify.

Hi,

Go to http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/ and enter castleb choose at the start of the field. There is a list of townlands from 1851. Castlebellingham seems the nearest in Ardee co Louth.

If any were born in Ireland post 1864, their births should be registered in the indexes. These area available at the GRO in Dublin and on film at your local family history centre.

Thanks for your help Kate.

Unfortunately all the Irish born of this family are born pre 1860.
The Castle Belligew one reads as L....gh in the 1871 which seems to be either Laragh or Lough.

I am going to wait for details the 1861 census of their area as they seem to get more specific about their locations in Ireland as I go backwards.  Hopefully between the three I will be able to work it out.
