The full birth index is searchable, free, at:
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

First you could try and get them on 1881 census (also free to search either at Ancestry as above or on familysearch

this would give a place of birth for them.

Earlier censuses, before the marriage, may find them with parents.
Any father given for William? If not he is likely to be illegitimate.

Where have you looked already for info on them?
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

The information was gleamed from a marrage certificate  and no father is named .  :(

I shall be looking in the census  of 1881 to see if i can locate them .

Hi Bashford

The closest match I can find for William is a William Bashford on the 1871 Census who was listed as 15 years old at the time, living with his parents Steven James Bashford and Elizabeth.

This particular William Bashford was shown as born in Brighton. His father Steven was also a Brightonian and born about 1833. Elizabeth was listed as also born in Brighton in 1836.

Living with the family was Elizabeths mother Ann Bolingbrook, who was born in Epsom, Surrey in about 1813.

The family were living at an address that looks like 54 Nelson Cottage. Can't read the occupation properly though. The details are RG10/1076 Folio 128 Page 11

Steven James Bashford is shown as marrying Elizabeth Bolingbrook in Brighton in March quarter of 1861 in Brighton, so it is possible that she may have been a second wife, or just a late marriage.

I'll have a look for Henrietta..

Glen

I did not find them  but i did find a Edna Bashford born in 1914 in maidstone kent  her mother is named as mann but no father is named but i would expect it would be someone called bashford!  :-\

this also means the mother if it was the same mann was  a bit aged .
so i think it maybe a different woman .  ???

all in all i dont see any connection yet to my family so its on back burner unless other Information is forthcomming .
