1851 lookup please William WEST
« on: Wednesday 11 July 07 17:11 BST (UK) »
Dear Rootschatters,
I have been looking for a very long time for a relative William West. I have finally found his baptism in North Curry in 1824. However, after the 1841 census where he is in Fivehead, he disappears. I can't find a burial for him , so wondered if someone could look on the 1851 census for him.
Heres hoping,
Kind Regards,
Nooshie.

Hi,
We've always had some doubts as to whether these are the right people, because she is too young and so is he actually. Our Robert would have been 25 in 1851. Anyway, it is frustrating when relatives disappear, but it happens,(frequently in our family!!). He may well have gone to sea, as his brother John did and therefore it would explain why he disappears.
Thanks anyway. By the way Robert joined the Army and ended up in Canada where he died aged 77 in 1902. They were a much travelled family, this is why we think William may have gone abroad aswell.
Thanks again,
Kind Regards,
Nooshie.
