yes the link is attached to his rcord  by a stroke of luck  he was married whilst on service during ww1 in england and the wedding certificate is there
says his fathers names as Thomas Spencer Hairdresser
and an address in Melbourne for his father is also on his records
he died in Australia in 1954

Jessie Doane SPENCER married David Mitchell PATTERSON in 1935, reg number 14401

I could not find Jean's marriage - there is one to a Leonard  CHILD in 1936, reg 4438.  if it is her, she may have married again after 1942 (the extent of the index)

There are too many Hugh to know which is yours.   I did not find Margaret's marriage to 1942 in Victoria.

Death certificates will give you the names of husbands, an approximate time they married, and names and ages of children. This is the only sure way to get the names of kids after 1921 in Victoria (a few years later in the online 'pay for view' index)  

Once you have the exact date of death,  I find newspaper death notices posted by family may give you the married names of the girls, and even their children names.   Information is often on headstones too.

Regarding Margaret Wilson, she Margaret doesn't seem to have come to Australia with the family perhaps she married in Scotland and didn't emmigrate till late.  I found two deaths that might be her daughters

Jean Spencer HOGG died 1970 at Donv aged 52 reg no 21237
