any chance to improve on this picture

Realizing it is a photo copy, I wonder if anything can be done to make it a real picture. Thanks for any help.

Jim, thats a good question.  He wasn't while living in Ontario, but he might have been while in Scotland or coming over from Scotland.  A very good question.  Now I will have to investigate a little.

Flip the picture the right way and writing on top says "Lighter ....

Scan at 300 plus for restores please. Scan at larger dpi for small photos. Don't forget to crop the scanner bed out! (Them's the white bits)
