Blake non conformist baps/burs
« on: Wednesday 25 July 07 07:18 BST (UK) »
Hi there

Wonder if anyone can help find the dates for baptisms of Blake surname, St Ives 1848-1850 and Chatteris 1850-1859.  Parents Benjamin and Ellen Blake non conformists.

Also burial of John Blake son of above 1851-1860 Chatteris, again non conformist burial.

Many thanks

Do you have this family in 1851 and 1861? If not I'll post details.

In 1851 their son James age 1 is shown as being born in Somersham Hunts (same county as St Ives).

Depending on which variety of non-conformity they were they might not have even had their children baptised eg baptists did not do infant baptism

There's no Blake in Chatteris parish register, baptism or burial, which isn't surprising if they were non-conformist. Cambs FHS has a fiche set of non-conformist records, but there's no church in Chatteris included.

It might be easier to find the civil registration entries and buy the certs.
