Bedfordshire Boy has been online for the past 4 hours (since 5.30 a.m. UK time)!

Haven't a clue what you're on about Don.

I offered to provide you with the ten BOWERS children, not MAYCOCK, in 1901.

Read my last post of 26 July, which Mike has just repeated.

David.
Sorry,  completely misread your message! Having got some where with the Bowers line I have been hitting brick walls with the Maycocks.  My ageing brain told me that you had the family listed and I just posted an entry without checking back. Sorry.
Don.

What was the name of William's father on his 1916 marriage cert?

If it was the Samuel identified by Mike some time back then you can look him up on the 1881 census at www.familysearch.org

Using http://freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl will show you Sam's marriage, and if you buy the certificate it will show both fathers' names

thanks David you have got me moving again. Williams father was Samuel and he married a Elizabeth Dickerson in July 1875. From your info I have obtained the family as it was in 1881, two sons and two daughters. As you say I can now get the marraige certificate and go back another generation.  I have also obtained some Maycock addresses from Telephone Directories covering the Ramsey area . When I get some spare time I may write to these to see if I can find a line through the 1900's
