Are you sure it was in Co. Londonderry? Can't see the marriage listed on www.irishgenealogy.ie (checked under both names separately, although I have found mistakes there before). Four children listed on IGI including Jane Dorrence Neely 17 Jan.1865 in Kilrea district. Neely is a name found around Kilrea but not many Duttons there.

It is possible the marriage of Adam and Margaret took place wherever Margaret was originally from. Yes, the four children are all listed on IGI but Jane's record is the only one with Kilrea (others just say Co.Derry). It's possible there are other records in the Kilrea area. Do you know the family's religion and Adam Neely's occupation?.

Don't know Adams occupation but I believe them to be Church of Ireland

Someone else is researching this family:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/LANARK/2004-06/1088265464

Caroline Sarah Neely m.1899 David McIntosh & had: James, John Dutton.
Anne Mary Neely m.1897 William Russell & had: Matthew, Samuel John Neely.

Both Neely sisters went to Scotland before 1891. Perhaps other family members also went to Scotland? Scottish records are so much better than Irish ones (and available on-line on Scotland's People) so there might be more details there.

That looks like the marriage Mary. Ballymoney is not that far from Kilrea. I actually have an ancestor called Thomas Neilly whose daughter lived outside Kilrea but farther back than Adam's father.

I know it's an old thread, but I've been researching this family and thought I'd post what I know for the benefit of anyone who may be interested.

Margaret Dutton was born to John Dutton and Jane Martin c1848.

Adam Neely married Margaret Dutton in Ireland (no record). Their children were Caroline Sarah Neely, b.1873-11-09 NewtonLimavady, Londonderry, and Samuel John Neely, b.1876-04-04, Limavady, Londonderry.

Adam Neely died 1879-02-19, Coleraine, Londonderry.

Margaret subsequently married William John Logan (1851-1911) and had two children. James Alfred Logan, b.1880-11-05, Dervock, and Thomas Logan, b.c1885, Falkirk, Scotland. The family moved from Ireland to Falkirk some time between 1880 and 1885.

Margaret Dutton died 1906-06-12 in Falkirk.

Samuel John Neely is named as Samuel J Logan in the 1891 and 1901 Scotland Censuses. He re-took the name Neely and married Agnes Knuckie 1906-09-13. They had 3 children, Isabella Knuckie Neely, b.1906-09-23 and twins Samuel John Neely and Jane Dorrance Neely, b.1909-11-23. Samuel John (jr) died age 0 in 1909.

Agnes was previously married to Robert McCandlish (1860-1902) and they had at least one child, Daniel McPherson McCandlish, b.1899.

Agnes, Jane, and Isabella show up in the 1911 Census in Warrington, England. Samuel John is nowhere to be found in the UK in 1911.

Samuel John, Agnes, Jane (as Jean), Daniel, and another son Thomas (birthplace listed as Ireland) show up in Buffalo, NY in the 1930 Census. It's unknown where Isabella is at this point.

At some point, Isabella changes her name to Yvonne Costley - perhaps she married.

Jane (as Jean D Neely) is found living with Isabella (as Yvonne Neely) in NY in 1989, and in Astoria, NY again in 1995.

Isabella (Yvonne) died 1995-05-12 in Astoria, NY. Jane (Jean) died 2008-04-10, again in Astoria, NY.
