Birth - Ystradgynlais, Breconshire 1864

Can anyone help?

I'm looking to purchase my great grandfather's birth cert.

Altho he lived most of his life in Pontardawe, he was born in Ystadgynlais.

However on the GRO the only match to date and name I can find is showing as Neath district.

Where would Ystrad come under in 1864

Yes.

If you're using FreeBmd, within the result, click on the registration district, then on the underlined 'here' and you will find a list of the parishes included in that district and during which years. Ystradgynlais was covered by Neath until 1875.

The census returns all state Breconshire so it was throwing me out a bit.
