Padlock - Resolved (thank you)
« on: Sunday 05 August 07 22:54 BST (UK) »
I'm a novice user, ever since I first began posting anything I put up has had a padlock symbol in the very right hand column.

Could someone explain what it means please? I'm more curious because there are others who appear to be at my same level of activity who don't have this padlock in the right hand column of their posts.

Thank you

Hi Canuc,

I don't see a padlock on the right-hand side of any of your posts.

If a post is locked it gets a padlock in the upper left-hand corner of the topic. (first image)

If you start a topic, then you can lock it (image 2), bottom Left-hand side of the topic.

Maybe you could add a (partial) screen shot, so we can sort it out.

regards,
Bob

Trying to attach a file of what I see, but no luck so far.

Interstingly the padlock I see in the right hand column is now joined by a waste paper basket for this post.

As Alice said curiouser and curiouser

Will try again

Realised the file I was trying to attach is way too big.

Just tried clicking on the padlock I see and it offers me the option to lock the topic. I did this and I then see the padlock you see in the left hand column (I've now unlocked it again).

The waste bin suggests I can delete the entire post.

The attached is only 25kb, so it should work.
The five right hand most columns of a post that I started, with padlock symbol

Thanks

I read the rtf and it does have a padlock. I just haven't figured out what Canuc is looking at yet. Most odd?
