Several years ago, there was some discussion about Langford families of Knighton & of Kington. I'm hoping that some one knows something about Humphrey Langford of Kington.
Although a baptism has not yet been found, Humphrey Langford of Kington, Herefordshire, glover, is known to have been the son of John Langford of Kington, butcher. Although he lived in Kington, Humphrey Langford was admitted & sworn a Freeman of the City of Hereford in 1714. He seems to have married twice - each time the bride's first name being Mary. By his first wife, he had at least 2 daughters - Mary (1716) & Catherine (1719). By his second wife (he married Mary Smith at Knill in 1726), he had at least 1 daughter - Ann (1730).
Hoping that someone has information about Humphrey Langford of Kington.
Jean D of Hereford.

Many thanks for posting the clipping Dave. John Alfred is my GGG Grandad and these were his first 3 children who succumbed to scarlet fever.
I have the NZ death notices, but did not know this had been in the Hereford Times.
Cheers, Glen
