This is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone has access to the parish records for Calary that could do a look up for me please?
My ancestor, Mary/Maria Bennett was described on the 1861 census as coming from "Calerae, Ireland".
Someone on another thread has suggested it migh be Calary and it was spelt phonetically, which would make sense so I wanted to see whether any Bennetts existed around the time of her birth, which was around 1796.
She moved to Nottingham where she married John Burton.
Her sister Elizabeth, was born in Malta around 1805 which makes me think they were the children of a soldier.
Any info would be great.
