My grandfather was Joseph Kelly from Glencullen barnacullia.

Info on the census (1901-1911) is that Joseph Kelly resided at the above address age 18.
Joseph came to a small village where he met my grandmother.
Maybe I have the wrong Joseph but any info would be appreciated

Is this the Joseph Kelly you think may be your grandfather on the 1901 census ?

   Kelly household - Barnacullia

Since Kelly is such a common surname, it might be an idea to start your search by comparing the details of this census return against the marriage cert for your Joseph - a match with father's name and occupation would help confirm if this is the correct family or not.

Shane,
I know my grandfather is buried  in Macreddin Cemetery Aughrim Co Wicklow.
1901 Census states Joseph 18 living  9 Barnacullia, brother Michael 24 same address.
1911 census Joseph living in Aughrim Co Wicklow age 30 but I cannot find Michael or my GG parents on the 1911 census.
Will start with the marriage cert making sure I have the correct family.
Thanks again for your reply

Regards

Hi Frances, that would be great thanks. I’m doing a tree on ancestry but haven’t much info on my Grandad’s extended family. He was Patrick Kelly born 13/11/05 and married my grandma, Nelly Nolan, hence my user name 😀. My name is Alison Wilmot, my mother was Patricia Kelly born 23/11/1930.

So your grandfather was the brother of my mother’s grandfather that must make you my mother’s cousin?

Regards Alison
