Anniversary of the Somme 1 Jul 1916

Whilst surfing the Times Online archive I have discovered that on the 1st Jul each year starting on 1st Jul 1918 there is a list of deaths in memoriam.  If anyone's relative was killed on this day it may be worth checking out.  The majority do seem to be for commissioned officers but there are a few other ranks also.
